Do Violent Video Games Influence Children Print E-mail

The question of violent video games influencing children is so obvious to everyone that it makes me wonder why game makers go so far to make such graphic violence in games. There is no need for destructive violence because it really does not take anything away from the game if it is not included. Gamers are going to play regardless besides there are so many other ways to be graphic, why implore violence. It many times is the violent nature of these games that influence children to do some of the dreadful things that they do.

Violent video games in many ways suggest to children that rebellion is ok. Kids are very rebellious in this generation and everyone is wondering where it came from. Parents allow their kids to play violent video games for hours and hours unmonitored and as a result their kids evolve into a rebellious person because of the violence from the video games. It is no secret that kids like the violent video games better than those games that are G rated. Violent video games teach and educate kids on how to be destructive and mischievous.

Again, there is a learning curve that is involved in the violent games that appeals to kids. They are exposed to lots of curse words, graphic images such as sex, explicit lyrics from the music playing in the background, violent fighting techniques, and more. Kids are interested in learning about all of these things. All of these negative influencers have a major effect on kids. Not only do kids love watching movies that are filled with violence but now they can get more of the same content in playing video games.

The addiction that comes with playing violent video games is perhaps stronger than most other games. There is a delight to hear the curse words after you perform a certain maneuver or defeat your opponent. Not only is there an addiction to playing the game but there is an addiction to hearing the negative conversation in the game. This conversation is learned and then used when around friends. Watching the sexual images that are planted inside these games and listening to the lyrics of raunchy songs lead to more addictions. Many of these bad habits kids begin to like and thereby reflect in the way they behave away from the game.

Video games are very enjoyable but the violence and Rated R material that game makers plant inside these games are unnecessary. The answer is yes to the question do violent video games influence children.
